C Spire wireless customers are seeing faster speeds and broader cellular coverage across our footprint, thanks to network engineers and technicians working diligently to bring new cell sites online and enhance existing sites with 5G and premium LTE.
Recent enhancements include rural areas throughout Mississippi such as Greene County along state Hwy. 57 between the towns of Leakesville and McLain.
“Continual investment in our wireless network keeps our customers connected to their families and friends, jobs, and emergency services,” says Alan Jones, chief network officer at C Spire. “These network enhancements in rural Greene County will ensure those connections remain robust for our customers.”
New 5G sites in Pascagoula, Oxford, Courtland, Wiggins and McHenry are now online, in addition to major upgrades in several areas, including:
- Macedonia, improving coverage in northeastern Forrest County and southern Jones County
- Fernwood in Pike County, between McComb and Magnolia
- Along Standard Dedeaux Road in Hancock County
- Purvis in Lamar County
- Goodman in Holmes County
- Hollandale in Washington County
- The Fondren neighborhood in Jackson
- State Hwy. 67 at the Department of Public Safety complex in Harrison County
Our mission to enhance network coverage at schools continues, with new cells recently added at:
- George County High School in Lucedale
- Northeast Jones High and Middle Schools as well as East Jones Elementary School in Jones County
- Oak Grove Middle School in Lamar County
- Raleigh High School in Smith County
The C Spire network team racked up more than 500 enhancements to the cellular network in 2022 and 2023, a nearly $150 million investment. These 5G and LTE deployments are part of a $1 billion investment in expanding our network and the fiber infrastructure that powers our wireless towers.
