Thousands of patients, physicians, administrators and visitors at one of Mississippi’s largest hospitals are now experiencing a robust connection to the C Spire wireless network every day.
At St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, a new distributed antenna system throughout the campus is enabling more than 8,000 people daily to text, talk and browse at faster speeds than ever before. The system covers the entire 1.2 million-square-foot facility, including the office towers, main hospital and Dominican Plaza annex located across Lakeland Drive.
“Today’s healthcare providers need the fastest-possible network speeds to serve their patients,” said Charles Watson, senior vice president for networking operations at C Spire. “The distributed antenna system we deployed has significantly improved coverage and capacity across St. Dominic Memorial Hospital, and we are increasing broadband resources to support their telehealth services.”
Across the C Spire footprint, wireless network engineers and technicians continue to add new 5G and LTE cells to provide customers with fast, reliable speeds. In 2023, C Spire has invested more than $20 million in hundreds of new 5G and LTE sites in cities like Hattiesburg, Lucedale, Gulfport, Oxford, Kosciusko and Wiggins.
