C Spire technicians are continuing to expand and enhance the C Spire 5G and LTE wireless network.

Recent work in south Mississippi have brought online new 5G sites to serve customers in Lucedale and in neighboring George County communities like Agricola, Shipman and Merrill.

Once upon a time, smartphones were relatively safe from hackers compared to traditional personal computers. But as people began to use their devices for sensitive activities like banking, shopping and medical consultations, the flood gates opened.

Coastal Mississippi is known for its ample sun and sand, entertainment and gaming, and of course, the bounty of fresh seafood brought in daily from the Mississippi Sound and Gulf of Mexico. In fact, a century ago, Biloxi earned the nickname “seafood capital of the world” when it produced more than 20 million pounds of shrimp and oysters every year.

Thousands of patients, physicians, administrators and visitors at one of Mississippi’s largest hospitals are now experiencing a robust connection to the C Spire wireless network every day.

C Spire’s investment in its 5G network continues with recent work across Pike County completed just in time for students, teachers and administrators to head back to school.

These sites include South Pike High School, located in the Magnolia community, and Southwest Mississippi Community College on the northeastern side of McComb and Summit.
