C Spire System Analyst Jeana Smith is known for being efficient. Her motto? Work smarter, not harder.

When she recently tackled the tedious task of pulling together data for an extensive research report, she did it in typical Jeana fashion.

There is no doubt the topic of infrastructure is on the minds of many Americans. Seventy-four percent of respondents to a June 2021 Pew Research poll identified infrastructure in the U.S. as a “big problem.”

But infrastructure is much more than the highway paving projects and municipal utility overhauls we usually think about. In fact, the most critical infrastructure for successful communities today and in the 21^st century is access to broadband internet delivered by high-capacity fiber-optic lines.

The sharpest technology companies reinvent themselves every three to four years. As you read this, a manmade rover vehicle is maneuvering through the Martian landscape 175 million miles away, and artificial intelligence is gathering predictive-behavior information with every keystroke. Considering what is possible today, can you begin to imagine what the workplace will look like in 10 years?

Faison Gowdy, Mary Claire Parrish and Jon Wright have a few things in common.

All three are on the C Spire team and known to be dedicated, high-achievers in their areas of expertise — Faison in IT, Mary Claire in HR and Jon in PR and marketing. All three are native Mississippians, having earned their degrees in the state, as well.

And, as the Covid-19 pandemic hit in March, all three were given chances to grow or advance their careers within C Spire. “I didn’t expect this opportunity right now,” said Jon. “I’m very thankful.”
